Volunteers Discover Roman Ballista Launch Pad

This is Hertfordshire: A group of volunteers tending a Roman wall in Hertfordshire have discovered the remains of a Roman bastian. A group of 15 volunteers from the Friends of Verulamium in Hertfordshire have discvoered the remnants of a Roman tower while weeding along the preserved wall which once enclosed a city. Experts believe that the tower was actually a bastian which may have acted as a launching pad for a ballista.
