Anthony and Helen Rose, who bought the property in 2003, checked the building at the urging of experts who are attempting to save the country's architectural treasures. The timbers in the ceiling were tested and found to date to 1447. The hall's ceiling and part of a window remain from the original structure.

Homeowners in Hengoed in Denbighshire, Wales were surprised to learn that a barn on their 21-acre farm contained a secret: the building was originally a rare, 15th medieval hall.
