West meets East this year – Northern India. Marco Polo visits in 1288 during the Mongol Peace (1245-1345), uncontested power of the Mongol empire opens up travel through their territory making India a real place rather than the land of legend.

We have had a change in location and because of it we have shifted our main focus this year. This will always be a pageantry event, expect traditional Western formality with the tastes, sounds and sights of India.

The Event Steward is so keen to have décor and ambience that she has offered a prize to the finest presence based on the Sixy-Four Arts from the Kamasutra of Vatsayayana – the cultural Kamasutra, that is. Here are the details:
ALL presences are included in this – the West has come to visit, after all. Presences that have an Indian theme will have greater favour, however. Western presences can decorate with all the heraldry they can muster for bonus points.Any number of people can group together to create their presence. The goal is to represent as many of the sixty-four arts as possible. For Burton’s translation of these, go to this link (ADULT CONTENT WARNING: YES, this site might cause office machines to freak out and block it. Give me a couple of days to extract the important info onto the event page website for those with delicate sensibilities. This site didn't differentiate between cultural and ahem.. other... social pursuits): http://www.spaceandmotion.com/kamasutra.htm This can be done with Western arts, however those that make an attempt at Indian will get the bonus points. The wow factor is high in this challenge. Have fun with it!

Stay tuned for the Feast menu - it is a full Indian feast this year!
