Latin to Become Lingua Europa?

L’Osservatore Romano, the official newspaper of the Vatican, is calling for Latin to become the official language of the European Union. The article comes in the wake of a move by Finland's president to promote the use of the language as "potentially contemporary."
L’Osservatore Romano writes: "While Latin has been given up as a compulsory subject in schools over recent years, interest in the language is growing in Europe and other parts of the world," the semi-official L’Osservatore Romano said in a commentary. |
