Medieval Law Saddles Queen with Rat-Infested House

Residents of Manchester, England have declared Her Majesty owner of of an abandoned and vandalized house thanks to a 607-year-old law that turns over ownership of abandoned buildings to the Crown.

City officials have spent months trying to clear up the problem with the property until they came across the medieval law. As to what the Queen will do with the house? "If she doesn't like it [the house], she could always give it to Prince Charles and Camilla," suggested Ralph McCabe who lives next door.
