FIGHTING? Of course, how could we be Hammerhold without it?

  • 1st List: Katana (bastard sword) limited to single weapons (less than 48")
  • 2nd List: Mountain Warrior Li Wu Jin Memorial List - 7.5 foot glaive.
  • Melee 1: Tajima the Arrow Cutter Bridge
  • Melee 2: The Escape of the Emperor
  • Melee 3: The 16 Spears of Shinano (All Melees are shield-less)
  • And finally, if the fighters are not exhausted, we will have one fi nal combat, "Susano-o versus the Nine-headed Serpent", guaranteed to continue the tradition of Hammerhold providing a twist to SCA combat. No Archery at this event.

Costs:
Adult Members: $12.00 (campers and daytrippers same price)
Children 6-12 are half price; Children under 6 are free.
Non-members fee of $3.00 added to all prices. All other usual rules apply. Site fee includes camping fee. (Pre-reserves can deduct $2 if postmarked by September 1, 2006) Make check payable to: "SCA, Inc. dba Shire of Hammerhold"

Meals:
We will provide a traveler's fare Friday night, and 3 meals on Saturday.

Site information: This is a Mississippi State park which means it is a dry site. This is a primitive camping site. However, new this fall are hot/cold showers and bathrooms . There is a swimming area but there is no lifeguard on duty

DIRECTIONS:
From the WEST and NORTH - Travel on I-55. At the Sardis, MS exit (Exit 252) turn east on MS Hwy. 315, travel approx. ten miles to the Lower Lake of Sardis Dam. Look for SCA signs for the Sleepy Bend Camp Site. Th e entrance to the campsite will be on the right. If you cross the spillway, you have gone too far. Turn around and head back. From the SOUTH - Travel on I-55. At the 2nd Batesville, MS exit (Exit 246) Turn east on MS Hwy. 35, travel approx. eight miles to the Lower Lake of Sardis Dam. You will cross the spillway and travel around the lower part of the Dam. (approx. 1.5 miles) Look for SCA signs for the Sleepy Bend Camp Site, which is on the far side of the lower lake. Th e entrance to the campsite will be on the left.

From the EAST - Travel on Hwy 6 West toward Batesville, MS. Approx. 1.5 miles past the Panola County line, turn North (right turn) onto MS Hwy 315. {Crossroad's Grocery will be on the corner} You will travel approx. 5 miles to the Lower Lake of Sardis Dam. You will cross the spillway and travel around the lower part of the Dam. (approx.1.5 miles) Look for SCA signs for the Sleepy Bend Camp Site, which is on the far side of the lower lake. The entranceto the campsite will be on the left.
