Director THL Tyzes Sofia (a.k.a. Zsof) writes:
This year, the Known World Players is proud to announce Reader’s Theater at Pennsic. If you've always wanted to do a play at Pennsic but didn't want to commit too much time, this is the production for you! This inaugural production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be directed by Baroness Gwendolyn the Graceful, and will be performed on Thursday, August 17, from 4-6 pm in the Performing Arts Pavilion.
The first rehearsal and casting will take place on Sunday, August 12 at 11:00 am. All roles are open.
A second comedy is also on the playbill for Pennsic this year:
Join the Known World Players for a madcap romp on Friday, August 18 at 8:00 pm in the Performing Arts Pavilion.
In Gammer Gurton’s Needle, Gammer Gurton has lost her precious needle while sewing her man Hodge’s pants! Join her servants as the search begins. Miscommunication and mayhem is led by the local eccentric, Diccon, who does his very best to turn everything on its head. Did Dame Chat steal the needle? Or did the cat eat it? Will Hodge’s pants ever be the same? Find out the answers to these questions and more with the Known World Players 7th annual production.
The Players are also celebrating their "lucky seventh" anniversary with a reunion:
The Known World Players are proud to announce a special reunion at Pennsic War 35. If you have ever acted with the Players, worked backstage, seen a play, or just want to know more about us, you are invited to attend a “Lucky 7 Year Anniversary” gathering. Come to the Performing Arts Pavilion at 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 13, and share stories and memories of the past seven years of wonderful performances.
