Thing in the Woods IV

description:
The Shire of Easaraigh would like to invite you all to THING IN THE WOODS IV, July 28-30 at scenic Camp Tubb BSA Camp near Rock Island, TN.

We have a LOT of activities planned:
There will be a full slate of EARLY PERIOD CLASSES on everything from primitive camping and outdoor skills, to hats, weaponry, various flying projectiles, and more.

The Iron Bow Guild is offering its first official guild meeting, with an ARCHERY SHOOT and I hear a REALLY spiffy prize to be offered for the days best. I understand that there will also be Combat Archery Authorizations and Lord Basil Rattenbury will be holding SIEGE WEAPON authorizations during the day, so bring your large weapons of destruction and see what havoc we can come up with. There will be a pot luck style Guild lunch on the field, so bring what you will.

For those not attending the Guild meeting the Dancing Wenches Tavern will be offering lunch fare. And as it's July and just bloody hot, our Shire will be offering period snow cones and drinks as a fundraiser during the mid-day Siesta.

Unfortunately we will not be having Youth Combat, but there will be Children's Activities.

The site is bounded on three sides by the Caney Fork River. During the day Swimming will be available at your own risk, and fishing is allowed with a valid Tennessee Fishing License.

Merchanting space is *free*, and all merchants are welcome. Merchants are asked to please contact the Autocrat via the website.

The Northern Cohort of the Meridian Army will be having a WAR PRACTICE in the early evening.

After the War Practice we will be having our traditional Centaur's Glade Tourney, by *torchlight*. This year it is limited to no shields over 24 inches across and no weapons over 36 inches.

Feast will be buffet-style, and will be DURING the fighting.

That's right, bring your chairs and see what the fighters can do when it gets dark. Enjoy a sumptuous "pick & graze" buffet-style feast outside under the stars while watching our kingdom's valiant warriors battle for the beautiful Centaur's Glade Medallion.

A Rapier Torchlight Tourney and Centaurs Glade Rapier Champions Tourney are also planned.

One note; Since a sizable portion of the festivities are scheduled outside and many also after dark, we advise that folks bring your folding chairs and torches, lanterns, etc. if you have them. Site is primitive camping.

Class schedules & descriptions, directions, feast menu, contact info and other details can be found at http://www.easaraigh.net/event.html

We welcome you all to come visit us in Easaraigh for THING IN THE WOODS IV. Hope to see you.

Sincerely,

THL Conall Mac Duibdarach,
Seneschal, Easaraigh Location:
