The Barony of Thescorre invites one and all to attend Pax Interruptus 30. This year we are pleased to also invite all to the Investiture of Eric and Katja, 6th Baron and Baroness of Thescorre!
The event is being held at Genesee Country Campground, 40 Flint Hill Road, Caledonia, NY 14423. The site opens at 4:00pm on Friday July 7th and closes at noon on Sunday July 9th.
On Saturday we will be running the usual war practice melees for the heavy fighters and fencers, archery, thrown weapons, youth combat, youth archery, and a variety of other activities. Baronial and Royal Courts will be scheduled throughout the day. A feast and an evening of bardic activities will round out the day. The AEthelmearc Scribes will be hosting a raffle to raise funds for the Known World Scribal Tea at Pennsic.
The site provides newly renovated flush toilets and showers, a playground, and a camp store that provides groceries, ice, and wood. The site is discretely damp. A large open field is available for the fighting and fencing, and camping is around the edge of the field. There will be fire rings available (bring your own wood or obtain wood from the camp store). The field does not have any water immediately available so it is suggested that campers bring their own. Dogs are welcome on leash and must be cleaned up after; owners must have proof of license and vaccination. The campground also offers nature trails and a 9-hole golf course, and is within easy driving distance of the Genesee Country Museum.
Day visitors are encouraged to bring pavilions for shade and to enhance the atmosphere of the field.
The costs for this event are: Camping $5.00 per adult per night, 1/2 price for ages 6 to 16, 5 and under free. Day visitors only $5.00 per adult, 1/2 price for ages 6 to 16, 5 and under free.
