Washington Early Music Festival Features Italian Theme

Residents of the Washington D.C. area may want to immerse themselves in music of early Italy by attending concerts that are part of the Washington Early Music Festival. The festival runs June 2-25, 2006.

La Musica Antica d'Italia is the theme of the festival's third season, which will explore "Italian music from the medieval, renaissance and baroque eras, early dance, and visual arts." Featured will be early music performers and groups from the Washington D.C. area as well as some from elsewhere in the U.S. and the world.
