Eastman's: According to the March 24, 2003 issue of "Eastman's Genealogy Newsletter
Online," Prince Madoc ap Meurig not only arrived in North America during the
6th century, but also set up colonies.
Radio carbon dating has provided new evidence of the British colonization of
North America as early as the 6th century, according to Eastman's Genealogy
Newsletter. Several researchers have compared burial sites in Wales to grave
sites found in the American south and midwest and now say that the designs are
similar. There have also been other artifacts found using an ancient British
alphabet. Legend has Prince Madoc of Wales sailing to America in 562, which may
now correspond to some of the research.
