College of Medieval Military Studies Created in Meridies

THL Edward of Yarborough has announced the creation of the College of Medieval Military Studies in the Kingdom of Meridies. The mission of the College is to "bring the study of the medieval military experience to those that wish to learn about it and from it."

His Lordship writes:

These greetings come from the THL Edward of Yarborough,

I hope this missive finds all in good health and in good spirits.

I am writing this to announce (with permission of the Chancellor of RUM) that a new College is forming in this fair Kingdom of ours. This College will study the various aspects of the military of the Middle Ages. The College is named the College of Medieval Military Studies. The College's mission is to bring the study of the medieval military experience to those that wish to learn about it and from it.

This is not to be misconstrued as a War College. A War College (as some examples exist in other Kingdoms) works with just fighters and how to fight in wars. The College of Medieval Military Studies will strive to cover many areas in the life of the military of the middle ages. The College is open to all no matter if you wear armor, make armor, or watch from a far. Please consider joining the College and learning more about the experience that is and was the military in the middle ages.

The curriculum will cover three time periods of study, Antiquity( the military before the period-pre 600AD), Period (military during the period we are set in 600AD-1600AD), and then there is the Current Middle Ages (military we now have in place). Areas of study includes(each having classes taught from each of the time periods) military history, leadership, strategy and tactics, military philosophy, military sciences (architecture, siege warfare tech, and naval tech), and the military in the Current Middle Ages. There is so much to learn and so much to teach. Many thanks to THL Adian for showing such a good example of what can be taught at events. If you went to Midwinter A&S then you know what I am talking about. (PS, if you took any of those classes please email me at the address below to get credit for those classes you took).

What the College needs most is teachers. If you want to teach a class on the military from the above requirements please email me at edofyar@bellsouth.net and we will discuss your class and how it can be integrated into the College. The next best chance to teach will be at Kingdom A&S/RUM. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me to teach or learn more about the College.

Again thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

I remain in service to Society,Kingdom, and Crown

Please cross post this to other lists to spread the word. Thank you.
