Shakespeare First Folio to be Auctioned

A rare, 17th century, calf-bound volume of the plays of William Shakespeare is scheduled to be auctioned in the summer of 2006 at Sotheby's sale of English Literature and History.

The 1623 edition is now on display at the auction house in London and is expected to bring US$4-6 million. The compendium of the 36 plays, still in its original binding, is being sold by the trustees of Dr. Williams' Library in London.
