British Archaeologist Defends the Middle Ages

British Archaeology: In an article written for British Archaeology, Peter Ellis bemoans the trivialization of the Middle Ages and defends some of its lesser-known concepts. Peter Ellis begins his piece with a trip to a "Mediaeval Roast" (think Medieval Times!) and wonders how this period in time has become nothing more than a joke to most people. Later he looks at such noble endeavors as industrialization and cooperative agriculture as well as impressive architecture.
