Candlelight Camp 2006 - POSTPONED

Those that die with great bravery on the battle fields, hold a special place in Norse cosmology. They are the Einherjar, those that are chosen by Odin to fight on the sides of the Gods at Ragnorak. Every day they are awakened and march out to the great field to fight against each other in merry combat. At dusk they are all miraculously healed and march back to the hall of Valhalla, where they are served a great feast and enjoy merriment into the night.

Join us for the weekend and enjoy a packed schedule of Heavy and Rapier Fighting (in and around a grand fort), A&S Competitions/Displays, and a superb Norse/ Saxon Feast, just to note a few of the activities that will be taking place!

Planned Martial Activities:
Heavy Weapons
8:30a to 9:30a Armour inspection
9:30a to 11:00a Protectorate Tourney (Barony Fighters Only)
11:00a to 12:00p Snowball list* (Open to All)
12:00p to 1:00p lunch/ pick ups
1:00p to 4:00 Fort Battles or as time allows (Open to All)

*Snowball Tourney - The fighters get in a circle. When lay on is called you may attack anyone who is not to your immediate left or right. When you defeat someone they are on your team under you. Then it works via teams. The teams then absorb other teams and those teams then are on their team. The captain or anyone else can be killed in an individual fight but he/she returns as soon as that engagement is over to the side he was on before unless that side was absorbed then they join the team that defeated them under the winning sides captain. When there are two sides left you have your two sides for the melee's that day. Those two sides then fight to find out who the wining captain of the tourney is. Sides will be "evened up" before the melee's begin.
