"People come quite a ways to do this. One time a year, the bards get together to do an informal competition. That's the way it was done traditionally. The bards would sing a song of a particular deed. A lot of our own oral tradition is carried on this way, too," said Scott Ingle of Cavour, seneschal of the local group.
