Swords & Shawls at Salisbury House

Salisbury House, a 42-room mansion located in Des Moines, Iowa which is modeled after the King's House in Salisbury, England, is celebrating its reopening for public tours after an extensive renovation with "Swords & Shawls," an exhibit featuring a display of swords dating from Medieval times through the 19th century.

The exhibit will include a 50-inch, two-handed steel Flamberge, circa 1650 and an Italian rapier, doubled eged steel with wire-wrapped grip, circa 1550. Also on display will be beautiful Kashmiri/Paisley shawls from an extensive collection acquired by Edith Weeks in the 1920s-1930s.
