Forward into the Past

Since 1990, the Kitchener-Waterloo branch (Bryniau Tywynnog) of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) has presented a day of classes exemplifying the best of the Middle Ages.

This year's FITP is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2006. The keynote speaker has been confirmed! Dr. Ron Ross of the C.H.A.R.T. program of Ironbridge, England and faculty member at Wilfrid Laurier University will be giving the keynote this year. Details are here. Class and Teachers lists have been updated as of March 5th, 2006. We're now over 60 hours of classes! The FITP Posters and leaflets are now available online. Download the Poster either as an webpage or a word doc, and the small leaflet as a word doc that you can double-side in a photocopier. Please feel free to download and spread the word far and wide!

FITP is held at St. Jude's Scholar's Hall on Trillium Drive in Kitchener.

As in past years our goal is to bring you over 100 hours of classes on a very wide range of topics. Four different types of classes are offered. Lectures on a culture or topic; Practicums - hands on classes; and In Persona classes -- where the instructor teaches while in the role of a medieval personality; finally there will be children's classes.

Don't worry about wearing funny clothes just come out and have fun. Dressing up is always welcome for the dancing in the evening if you want to try out a medieval costume.

Please note that these classes are aimed at a mature audience. Although younger folks are welcome to attend they will get a limited amount from the classes. Attendance restrictions on children are listed here. Any classes with content not suitable for younger folks will be restricted to age 18 and above.
