Friedrich Ethelred aus Schloss Trier, Estrella War XXII Internal Publicity Deputy, has announced three additional special events at the War: a Progressive Weapons Rapier Tourney, sponsored by the Kingdom of Caid, a siege engine competition, sponsored by Atenveldt, and Defenders of the White Scarf Tourney, sponsored by the Southern Academy of Rapier.

Open to all fighters. The choice of blades to be determined by opponents. Unless previously agreed upon and the marshals notified, Caid rules will be used; draw cuts & push cuts, all 5 inches or width of the limb, plus tip cuts for heavy rapiers only.

First round is single sword. If there are more than 10 fighters, format is triple elimination, with those still with 3 lives (undefeated) limited to single sword, those with 2 lives limited to defensive secondaries, and those with 1 life left are unrestricted in secondary choice. If there are more than 10 fighters, it is a double elimination with the same constraints, though as there will be no one with 3 lives, except for the first round everyone may use at least a defensive secondary.

By request of her majesty of Atenveldt, we will be doing the Greek Fire Fight again this year during the 40th anniversary party. The siege engines will line up against each other on the battle field and fire rock with glow sticks taped to them at each other until one side or the other has had all their engines killed. The area will be roped off to prevent spectators from being hit.

A rapier tourney for Defenders of the White Scarf only. Since there will be a war rapier melee at 2:00 PM on the same day, this will be a fast-paced, double elimination tourney. Fighting methods will be determined by luck of the draw. Prizes will be awarded for first and second places.
