Ceilidh XIX

The College of St. Joan presents Ceilidh XIX: To Be Determined

Ballarena at the Hara Arena Complex (same as last year) 1001 Shiloh Springs Road, Dayton, OH 45415. 

9 AM – approx. 11 PM.  Site is dry.

Directions and Hotel Information:  From I-70.  Take exit 29 (State Route 48/Main Street) and go south 3 miles to Shiloh Springs Road. Turn right onto Shiloh Springs Road (BP Gas Station and Arby's Roast Beef are on the corner). Travel 1 mile west to The Hara Complex.  From I-75. Take Exit 58 (Needmore Road). Travel west 3.5 miles on Needmore road (Wright Brothers Parkway). As you travel, it will change names (Shoup Mill and then Turner Road)—stay on this road.  Turn right onto Wolf Road and travel 0.3 miles north until it dead-ends into The Hara Complex. Merchants: Contact Carthach mac Cúáin (mka Jeremy Burgess) burgesjj@notes.udayton.edu 8 AM set-up, brute squad will be available to help you carry things. Spots cost $6 each and include one 8' table and one foot of space behind this table. Must be out by 5 PM for feast, and all merchants must pay site fee.  Merchanting fees must be paid via pre-reg. 

Activities:
Arts and Sciences Competition: As in the past, this year's Ceilidh will include an A & S competition complete with prizes.  Judging will close at approximately 4 PM, with the winners announced at feast. Please contact Jeremy at burgesjj@notes.udayton.edu for any additional queries.

Children's Activities / Youth Pointe:
10:00 Youth Pointe Opens – Registration for Youth Pointe, Page for a Day* , and Free Play begins

4:00 Youth Pointe Closes - Parents please arrive by or before
4:00 to pick up your children or they will be sold at a fair market price and the profits will be given to the Kingdom MOY Office.

Parents, please volunteer a little of your time at Youth Pointe. You will be able to enjoy the company of your children while they participate in activities meant for them. After all how many times have they joined you in your SCA activities? Don’t forget to read the Middle Kingdom Youth Policies available at http://www.midrealm.org/mkyouth/mkyouthpolicy.html

Dancing: Will follow feast, and will be taught by Lady Felice Debbage.  More information to follow at a later date.

Fencing:  We will have fencing, more information TBA

Hand-kissing Contest or Ribbon Tourney of Love: It's not your father's hand-kissing contest!  Everyone gets to participate, and everyone gets to be kissed! At the gate, you'll receive three or four ribbons with your site token for you to distribute at will. Your goal as a participant is to kiss, schmooze, flirt, or compliment your way to acquiring as many ribbons as possible!  When the contest ends, go to Troll with your ribbons to see if you've won!  Prizes will be awarded to the top three hand-kissers!
