Warmack, a football player at his Jackson, Missouri high school, became interested in his family's Scottish heritage after viewing Braveheart and bought the kilt to wear to the dance.
When told to change his clothes, Warmack stated that the principal said, "This is my dance, and I'm not going to have students coming into it looking like clowns." Principal Rick McClard denies having made the statement.
