Other items brought over for this exhibit include gilt drinking-cups from the 16th century, table fountains, and portraits, including two by Lucas Cranach the Elder.
Hesse family loans works of art to the Portland Art Museum
"Hesse: A Princely German Collection," which featuring the Darmstadt Madonna among other works from the Hesse family collection, will be on display at the Portland Art Museum through March 19, 2006.
