Crossbow Challenges at Estrella War XXII

Friedrich Ethelred aus Schloss Trier, Internal Publicity Deputy for Estrella War XXII, has announced that this year's War will include a period crossbow competition hosted by the Kingdom of the West.

Contact information

Period style target archery competition for period style crossbows (as per IKAC rules). There will be four rounds at approximately: 15, 20, 40 and 50 yards. The first three ends will consist of six bolts each. The final end will have only three bolts. There are no timed rounds. Crossbows may be shot from any position, including directly supported. No front or rear sights.

The rounds are based on medieval Italian shoots. Coin round: Shot at small coins. Winners get to keep their (chocolate coins). Cortona round: Scoring area also has negative scores and a "miss a turn". Or and gules round: Hit or miss, bolts must hit within set area to score. Final end: Between top scoring archers. Closest bolt to center wins.
