Imperial Turkish Costumes on Display

An exhibition of imperial Turkish robes and kaftans will be on display at the Smithsonian Institute's Sackler Gallery through January 22, 2006.

The exhibition, Style and Status: Imperial Costumes from Ottoman Turkey, consists of 68 objects dating from the 16th and 17th centuries including robes worn by Sultan Selim and Sultan Suleyman, and some ecclesiastical vestments.
