In Praise of Gleann Abhann

Iustinos Branov has posted "A Hymn in Praise of Gleann Abhann," written in honor of the founding of the new Kingdom.

Lord Iustinos writes:

The following was originally written to be presented unto the Crown whenever I thought I was actually going to be able to make it to the First Coronation.  As I sadly was not, this is now offered unto the Crown and general populace for their pleasure.

A Hymn in Praise of Gleann Abhann

by Iustinos Branov

All Hail the Mighty Ram that rises from the Mists of the Vale.  In new Kingdom, let feasts of celebration be announced as people given new life.  As Thou, the Crown, sit upon the foundation of the new throne, cry with us, Thy people: Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Attending unto Thee, the people of Gleann Abhann watch with awe upon the first court of our land.  Joining with the cheers from among the Knowne World, we cry:

Rejoice, Crowns of the Nineteenth Kingdom!
Rejoice, Gentles first among the peoples!
Rejoice, Children of the River's Valley!
Rejoice, Folk of the Highest Nobility!
Rejoice, with Red of War on Horizon!
Rejoice, under starry Black of this first night!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Victory on the field of tourney has proven skill of arms and courage of our King.  At his side stands our Lady Queen, full of the wisdom of her Land.  To them we cry: Huzzah!

Growing under the wing of our Mother, the Valley land found Her way to sovereignty.  Now we prepare to stand beside Her as both Daughter and Ally.  As such, we cry with the Crown of Meridies:

Rejoice, Daughter who has come of age!
Rejoice, Friend who stands beside us still!
Rejoice, Peoples joyfully released!
Rejoice, Land we sorrowfully loose!
Rejoice, Steppes that gave birth to a King!
Rejoice, green Eire who produced such a Queen!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Delightfully, the subjects of the Meridian throne join in our celebration at the rising of the new star.  Honor they pay as they cry to them who have sat on their throne: Huzzah!

Excellent wine flows among feasting gentles as the new Crown is toasted in royal halls.  On the fields outside, the armies of the Ram will meet their foes with vigor and valor as enemies invade lands newly given to their trust.  To them, we cry:

Rejoice, Hammer that crushes all foes!
Rejoice, Thou who bear the trust of the Crown!
Rejoice, Sword that never dulls from misuse!
Rejoice, Blade to never be broken!
Rejoice, Quiver holding the arrows of honor!
Rejoice, Shield that defends our land!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Zion's peace is the blessing wish for the Hebrew, but let those who love Gleann Abhann wish blessings also on those wishing peace on their land.  Raising such gentles in esteem, let us cry: Huzzah!

Elevated to take place among the Kingdoms that serve lady Chivalry, Gleann Abhann lifts with Herself those whom reside in Her.  Knowing that we experience our elevation with Her, let us cry:

Rejoice, Thou who lifts us up in new honor!
Rejoice, Sovereign Lady who presents to us Lady Chivalry!
Rejoice, Intermediary through which we know the Dream!
Rejoice, Stellar light that guides us to honor!
Rejoice, for in time of peace you show us this joy!
Rejoice, Instructor in the ways of nobility!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Throughout the knowne world, the proclamation has gone out that Gleann Abhann joins the laurel Kingdoms that rule over land and sea.  Strangers and distant friends come and join us, shouting: Huzzah!

Itinerants and travelers from other lands find themselves gathered around the throne of the Ram as the victor and consort ascend.  Rejoicing with the inhabitants of our land they cry:

Rejoice, Those who receive hope's fulfillment!
Rejoice, for with joy do we watch thee arise!
Rejoice, for it is to praise thy honor that we gather!
Rejoice, for this day thou know majestic King and Queen!
Rejoice, for rule unto thee is given!
Rejoice, for thou stand greatest among lands!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

King and Queen look out at the assembly of the peoples and exult.  Deeds of honor and courage grow strong in this field.  Wishing to encourage their populace unto even greater deeds of glory, they cry:  Huzzah!

Life in our land is adorned by the work of those who smith silver and gold.  The warmth of heart we bear is like under the woolen cloak of spinners and weavers.  Our strength is reflected in the wood beautified by our carvers.  To those who keep bright our land, we cry:

Rejoice, Thou who make beautiful this land!
Rejoice, those who wear Laurel upon thy heads!
Rejoice, Heralds who cry out in court this night!
Rejoice, Weavers of glory who clothe this land!
Rejoice, Spinners who keep the tales of our past!
Rejoice, Thou apprentices girded in green!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Mighty deeds are only half the strength of our Dream, complemented by the beauty of art and wisdom of science.  Keeping full the knowledge of the past and vision of the future, we cry:  Huzzah!

Never could such greatness that is our land come about without the labor of selfless gentles of great honor.  Upon their backs, the crown and populace are carried like mighty pillars of support.  In honor of their service we cry:

Rejoice, Faithful servants who labor for the Ram!
Rejoice, imitators of the selfless Pelican!
Rejoice, Thou who have given sweat and blood for Kingdom birth!
Rejoice, Carriers of burden and workers of toil!
Rejoice, for thou hast seen the fruit of your labors!
Rejoice, yellow belted who learn this way!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Kseni sojourn in our new kingdom, strangers to the ways of our land and to the noble service that is offered by Her people.  For in the Vale, servants, both holders of warrants and those who lack, labor, striving to bring order from the Crown's whim.  To both servants we cry:  Huzzah!

Order, O Chivalry, weapons sheathed as is drawn the sword of the Ram, for on its blade, fealty is sworn.  Be among the first to place your hand, even as the populace cries :

Rejoice, Warriors sworn to defense of the Ram!
Rejoice, who establish the new order of Knighthood!
Rejoice, Thou who forge a new golden chain of fealty!
Rejoice, Courtiers of Lady Chivalry!
Rejoice, For today thou receive a new Crown to serve with feats of arms!
Rejoice, Red-belt for under this new kingdom thou may be knighted!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Practitioners of the art of war and way of chivalry, find your way with us to kneel before the throne.  Knowing that soon will come your chance to prove your skill in honor of the new king, hear as they call in court:  Huzzah!

River Valley is the name given unto our new kingdom green and as the Father of Waters is among the greatest of rivers, so let us strive to be among the greatest of kingdoms.  Unto those who stand in our midst and wish us forward, let us shout:

Rejoice, Laurel Kingdoms who have upheld the Dream!
Rejoice, Sisters who with us govern the Known World!
Rejoice, Thrones who sit and watch our kingdom's birth!
Rejoice, Kings who know the might of the Ram!
Rejoice, Queens who see the beauty of soon to blossom Roses!
Rejoice, for the Ram takes its place in the constellation of kingdoms!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Sojourning beside the Crowns of the knowne world, our own crown now governs a laurel kingdom.  Taking up this mantle of challenge, let us strive with them to show the rest the jewel of the Ram's jeweled horn.  To our fellows, let us sing:  Huzzah!

Take heart, thou who stand in amazement at labor's end.  For though the labor of birth giving is now finished, the labor of growth lies upon the shoulders of the youngest daughter of Lady Chivalry.  To that daughter, cry with me:

Rejoice, Mistress who pushes us to honor!
Rejoice, Daughter of the Southern land!
Rejoice, Thou nourished by strong waters!
Rejoice, who gives nourishment to gentles fair!
Rejoice, Strength unassailable by any might!
Rejoice, Thou who gentles uphold!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Entering into her new life as Sovereign, the Lady that is our land finds herself in terrain new and unknown.  Holding her up by our combined might, let us in encouragement cry to her:  Huzzah!

Finding so great a treasure as the land in which we live, let us know that the still greater treasures are the children who sit in our midst.  Knowing that they are our future and that of our kingdom, let them cry with us:

Rejoice, Shepherd who leads us, Thy lambs!
Rejoice, Mentor who guides our learning!
Rejoice, Mother who sees our noble upbringing!
Rejoice, Crown who honors our mentors!
Rejoice, Reapers who harvest the field of potential!
Rejoice, Bards who tell us the stories of the past!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Children gather with us and see this, thy mother, honored by the gathered kingdoms of the knowne world.  Stand with the sojourners who visit our lands and praise with them Gleann Abhann, saying: Huzzah!

Psalms are sung in honor of God, so let Bards hymn the honors of Gleann Abhann and Poets chant the names of Her rolls from memory.  Let no noble deed be forgotten and let no gentle of honor go unglorified.  But to all who work praiseworthy deeds, poets chant:

Rejoice, Doers of deeds of nobility!
Rejoice, Shining beacons of chivalry!
Rejoice, Pillars of the honor of our lands!
Rejoice, Thou who make thy way into our history!
Rejoice, Gentles who are the rich tapestry of our Kingdom's past!
Rejoice, O Crown, our first, who pilot us into the annals!
Rejoice, O Mighty Ram!

Owing our honor and glory to those who have brought forth the birth of our kingdom, let us stand and with one voice cry out to them: Huzzah!
