Forensic Scientists Help Solve Mystery of Copernicus' Grave

Archaeologists believe that they have found the grave of 16th century astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus including a skull and partial remains.

When the grave was discovered last summer in northeast Poland, researchers turned over the remains to forensic specialists who were able to produce a computer-generated reconstruction of the man's face. Compared with known portraits from his time, they now believe that the remains are, in fact, those of the astronomer.
