Blackstone Raid XV

As the rest of the Kingdom settles in for a long winter of fun and frolic, those on the southern borders are beginning preparations for the annual spring invasion of the brigands from the Middle Kingdom who seek to steal Their Majesties' black rock.

The Barony of Blackstone Mountain would like to welcome all fighters, youth fighters, fencers, archers, thrown weapons experts, and artisans for their annual Raid on Blackstone Mountain. The site has changed to Cedar Lakes Campground and Convention Center in Ripley, WV (HC 88, Box 21 Ripley, WV no street address.) With the change, comes an improvement in activities, battles, and classes, lodging, camping, dining, and PARKING. The traditional field and bridge battles and Torchlight Tournament will be held. Other new heavy weapon battles are being proposed including a Artillery Battle. For the Fencers, there is a large field for fencing as well as a covered bridge for a Fencing Bridge Battle. Lord Parion is also proposing a roving Taunting Tournament for the enjoyment of fencers and spectators alike. The Blackstone Raid A&S Triathlon will once again be held and there are many rooms for A&S classes including blacksmithing and cooking. The traditional Baronial Birthday Bash will be held on Thursday night. Please keep checking back to www.blackstonemountain.net for more information. For more information about Cedar Lakes please check www.cedarlakes.org. Co- Chairmen for the Raid are Lord Ivan Darykson (Derek Hanson iderekh@hotmail.com) and Lord Kire MacUrsus (Tim Sayre kiremacursus@msn.com) Reservations will be taken after January 1, 2006.

And in response to discussion on this list, the site is large enough for family/quiet camping and not so quiet camping.
