The season will run from May 8 through September 28, 2003. Five plays will be presented: "Richard II," "Richard III," and the "Taming of the Shrew" by Shakespeare and "Edward II" and "Dido, Queen of Carthage" by Christopher Marlowe.

The new season will also feature a number of innovations including a Women's Company which will perform "Richard III" and "The Taming of the Shrew." The Marlowe works will be the first by that playwright to be presented at the Globe, either in modern times or during Shakespeare's life.
