Italian Renaissance manuscripts on display at the Walters

"Dressed in Gold: Books of the Italian Renaissance" is on display at the Walters Museum of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, through January 8.

The exhibit, which coincides with the opening of the Walters' redesigned early Italian painting galleries, will showcase the most spectacular examples from the museum's splendid Italian Renaissance manuscripts.

"Dressed in Gold" displays books originating from all of the major cultural centers in Italy, including Venice, Milan, Rome, Florence, and Naples -- and many different types, from liturgical texts to private prayerbooks, and from epic poetry to diplomatic documents.
