Mary Rose Anchor Raised

As work on the wreck of Henry VIII's flagship the Mary Rose continues, archaeologists announced that the anchor has been recovered.

Corroded and covered with seaweed, the 12.5-foot-long iron anchor was raised recently. Built in 1511, the ship sank in Portsmouth harbor in 1545. Divers have also recently recovered both a major beam from the ship and its figurehead, a Tudor rose. See related stories at:
