Wicker Man Festival: Episode 2: The Attack of the Penguins

As the Fall growing season comes to a close, come join us, the Barony of Blackstone Mountain, in our celebration of the Wicker Man Festival. There will be archery, fencing, and a Tournament of Knowledge for the fighters. Please see our website for specifics or contact the Baronial Knight Marshall for information.

Our Baroness has planned a special Arts and Sciences competition open to everyone who wants to compete. The theme of which will be the Most Humorous Heraldic Device. You can make it at home or all supplies necessary will be available at the event site. The winner will be decided by populace vote during feast. You must emblazon the device as well as make a pictorial representation.

Do not forget that there will be feasting a plenty, merchants, bards and all sorts of merriment. All will come to glorious fruition with the launching of wishes and dreams as we burn the Wicker Man.

The Event will be held at the easy to find Jackson County Jr. Fair Grounds (Mailing address, Rt. 2 Box 280, Cottageville, WV 25239, there is no street address)on Saturday October 29th, 2005. The site is completely dry. Anyone who has alcohol in their possession will be asked to leave the site immediately. Site opens 10:00 am and will close 10:30 pm. Anyone remaining onsite after that will be pressed into the cleaning crew.

Site Fee: Adults-$6, Children over 6-$4, Children 5 and under are Free.

Feast: $7.00 (Limited to 50 and pre-registration is encouraged) Non Member Surcharge of $3 will be collected at troll.

Deadline for pre-registration is October 20th. There is no fee for merchants other than your site fee. Please make arrangements with the co-autocrat for your indoor space.
