English Heritage to Save Doddington Stronghouse

A 16th century stronghouse, built during Northumbria's border wars with the Scots, will be saved thanks to an UKĀ£80,000 grant from English Heritage. The structure is located on a working farm near Doddington, England.

The 60 ft. high Doddington Bastle had been placed on English Heritage's Risk Register, meaning that the building was in danger of being lost. Now, thanks to the grant for conservation, the ruin will be saved.
