Travis Johnson, a member of the Outpost of Bismarck in Bismarck, North Dakota, was inspired by a local college football tradition in which a pumpkin was smashed every time the MSU team scored a goal against the Jamestown Jimmies. He brought his SCA siege engine out of the basement and used it in the NDCPD fundraiser, charging $1 or more to people for the privilege of watching vegetables get hurled and smashed by the trebuchet.
