A Kingdom Baptized by Storm

Lord Peregrine Fairchylde, coordinator of the Gleann Abhann Supply Run, offers poetic insight in the form of a song on the new kingdom's valiant efforts to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, with a little help from their friends.

A Kingdom Baptized by Storm
By Peregrine Fairchylde
Conceived at Midsummer Knight's Dream, Shire of Smythkepe, ASXXXX

AS 40 was to see
Gleann Abhann's ascendency,
As the Ram would claim its rightful throne.

But Nature laid a harsher course
And sent a storm of fearsome force,
That drove the people far from their homes.

Yet ere the waters did recede
Folk looked to their neighbors' needs,
To keep the fed and clothed and dry and warm.

The Heirs were safe but would not rest
'Til Gleann Abhann had come through the test --
A Kingdom baptized by storm!

Tell Axmoor and Seleone
And Dragoun's Weal they're not alone,
Gleann Abhann looks after its own --

Katrina struck a mighty blow,
But mightier the Ram will show
The year Gleann Abhann came to its throne!

In those first chaotic days,
Queen Lethrenn of Meridies
Bad those more fortunate, "Pay heed!

"Send what gold and goods you may,
"We'll see it heads Gleann Abhann's way --
"My people will not live in need!"

Tell Axmoor and Seleone
And Dragoun's Weal they're not alone,
Meridies looks after its own --

Katrina struck a mighty blow,
But mightier the Ram will show
The year Gleann Abhann came to its throne!

Ansteorra once fought wars
'Gainst Trimaris on Gleann Abhann shores,
And Calontir some mischief did try.

But they discarded these unpleasantries
And hit the road with awesome speed --
To Gleann Abhann's aid they did fly!

Tell Axmoor and Seleone
And Dragoun's Weal they're not alone,
The southern realms look after their own --

Katrina struck a mighty blow,
But mightier the Ram will show
The year Gleann Abhann came to its throne!

From AEthelmearc to far An Tir
The call went out for all to hear:
"The people of the Ram are in distress!"

They raided larders, cleared their shelves,
Some swore that they would come themselves,
To help Gleann Abhann out of this mess!

Tell Axmoor and Seleone
And Dragoun's Weal they're not alone,
The Known World looks after its own --

Katrina struck a mighty blow,
But mightier the Ram will show
The year Gleann Abhann came to its throne!

Yes Axmoor and Seleone
And Dragoun's Weal, you're not alone,
The Known World looked after its own!

The Ram was baptized on that day,
And proudly can its people say --
Gleann Abhann is worthy of its throne!
