Tourneys of Heroes (An Tir/West War)

All hearts turned with battles hard song To An Tir's Heroes fields Come! Mighty warriors of the West's fierce stand Come! Mighty warriors of An Tir's battles bold Come! All warriors from beyond suns broad gaze Celebrate Valhalla's bounty with brave hearts lifted Share with helmed brothers and sisters the blades beloved gifts And glory's shining path of bloods happy rain.

Hail and welcome to all the warriors of the Kingdom of An Tir and the Kingdom of the West in our happy meeting. His Majesty, King Skeggi, has charged that two tournaments be held to celebrate the company and companionship of mighty heroes! Join me in these happy endeavors on Sunday, July 3rd at An Tir / West war directly after the war scenarios.

Lists will open at 2 pm for both tourneys. Warriors whose helms have been marked from armor inspection for the war need not bring their fighter card to the lists table (as we will trust that each fighter will have been inspected and approved on the war fields earlier that day according to their Kingdoms rules). If that mark has been removed or lost, we will follow proper card protocol for any standard tourney list. If armor inspection is necessary, marshals will be available.

The first tourney will begin shortly after war scenarios have ended for the day. This tourney shall be in honor of and only for all fighters who have not achieved the rank of Knight. The format shall be a single elimination tournament; each fight shall be best two out of three. The first round shall begin with each side lining up according to West or An Tir affiliation, and a brief time will be allowed for some few warriors of each side to speak challenges to or honor for their fellows! Sides will be balanced, and then each side will be free to choose their first opponent from the opposing side for the first round! Winners will report to lists and those not so fortunate will glory in that they tested the winners well. Prizes shall be awarded for Chivalry, Ferocity, Best Presentation to / from their inspiration, overall winner, and the top five from the tourney shall be honored with the chance to fighting in the second tourney of that day!

The Second tourney shall be in honor of, and a fundraiser for the Greyhound Adoption efforts. This tourney will be for only those fighters that have achieved the rank of Knight / Master at Arms and above. The format shall be the exact same as the previous tourney. A Single elimination tourney, best two out of three each fight.

There will be roses present for the gathered heroes to offer to those that inspire them! Please partake of this opportunity and honor those fair ladies of both our lands at your desire and how honor guides you!

The fundraiser element will begin during the first tourney with a silent auction for all those chivalry that will be competing in the second tourney. The list of names to bid on will be available at the lists table, and are open to anyone who wishes to indicate a monetary bid. Bidding will close at the end of the first tourney with all monies due at that time. There will be several prizes / prize baskets available and who so ever successfully bids on those Knights / Master at Arms that win the tourneys various challenges will be awarded those prizes for their wisdom. All monies will be donated to the Greyhound Adoption association.

Challenges for the second tourney will be for Highest rank in tourney (overall winner), Most glorious verbal display, Most honor given to an opponents inspiration, and most heroic / dramatic blow struck or taken.

It is my intention to give ALL the warriors of our fair kingdoms a chance to shine in their own right. I very much want to give the unbelted tourney as much of a spotlight as the chivalry tourney, and for both of them to be as fun, fulfilling, and enjoyable for the participants and populace as possible.

Tentative schedule is as follows

Lists open: 2:00pm
Unbelted tourney starts: 3:00pm (or earlier / later depending on end of war scenarios)
Chivalry tourney starts: 5:00pm (or earlier / later depending on Unbelted tourney)
Prizes awarded: 7:00pm (or earlier depending on end of tourney)

It is my pleasure to bring you these opportunities for fun, enjoyment and glory! If anyone has any questions, please contact me at spirit393@yahoo.com.

In Service,

Sir Frederick Blackmoore
