1,000-Year-Old Church Discovered in Norway

Archaeologists have uncovered the remains of a nearly 1,000-year-old church in Skien, Norway, the country's oldest found to date. The discovery may prove that Christian conversions occured earlier than expected.

Experts believe that the post church may be the "Hakastein" mentioned in 14th century literature. They have also found two Christian graves at the site dating to the 9th and 10th centuries, proving that there may have been an earlier church at this location.
