Scottish Botticelli a Fake?

"The Portrait of a Youth," a painting attributed to Botticelli and owned by Scotland's National Galleries, may be a fake.

The portrait, which nearly bankrupted the museum when purchased in 1933, may actually have been painted by Albert Philippot, a Belgian artist and art restorer, experts say. A chemical analysis of the paint shows a composition that did not exist in the master's day.
