Shakespeare 2007: Arts Groups Plan Ambitious Citywide Festival in Washington, DC

The Washington Post reports on a citywide Shakespeare festival planned for 2007 in the U.S. capital, bringing together everyone from the Folger Shakespeare Library and Washington Shakespeare Company, to The Tiny Ninja Theatre.

The programming, which Kennedy Center President Michael M. Kaiser and Shakespeare Theatre Artistic Director Michael Kahn first discussed two years ago, will have a prismatic effect as Shakespeare's work is filtered across artistic disciplines. Major theatre, opera, and dance companies will take part, as will choral groups and museums.
