Digitally Reconstructing Medieval Manuscripts - University of Saskatchewan

The University of Saskatchewan is attempting to digitally reconstruct a large collection of medieval manuscripts.

The originals were dismembered and put into boxed exemplar "collections" in the early 20th century by book collector Otto Ege. Professor Peter Stoicheff is heading a project to bring the 40 boxes of material together and digitally put the books back together. So far 33 boxes have been located.

Associated with the project are a website, "Remaking the Book", at http://library.usask.ca/ege/ which details an upcoming gathering for the project, and Scattered Leaves, a virtual exhibit of the collection, at http://library.usask.ca/ege/exhibit/.
