Sir Edward the Red victorious in Ealdormere Crown Tourney

Viscount Sir Edward the Red, inspired by his lady wife Viscountess Mistress Rylyn Buchanan, was victorious in the Crown Lists of the Kingdom of Ealdormere held in the Canton of Caer Draeth on Saturday, May 28.

After a round-robin test of endurance in which all fifteen combattants faced each other at least once, with each match being best three out of five, Sir Edward entered the finals against Count Sir Sarnac Bahadur, whose only defeat had come at the hand of Sir Edward. Count Sir Sarnac fought for his lady wife, Countess Mistress Jolecia of Litchfield.

The finals consisted of three matches, each best three out of five. In the first match, fought with polearm, Sir Edward was victorious, and in the second, fought with sword and shield, Count Sarnac prevailed. Thus it came down to the third match, fought with two-handed swords, and it required all five bouts for Sir Edward to emerge as the tournament winner.

Wassail to the new Prince and Princess of Ealdormere, Edward and Rylyn!
