Medieval Fayre Newcomers Event

Come join the Society of Creative Anachronism as we hold our annual post-Brisbane Medieval Fayre Newcomers event!

The Event begins with a heavy fighter tourney from 2pm, where our mighty warriors battle against one another in a feat of strength and daring-do. During the action, a light afternoon tea of medieval goodies will be served to quell the beasts of hunger.

From 6pm a Mighty Feast will be presented, and pomp and pageantry showcased in our evening Baronial Court. The Meal will consist of goodly recipes from the Courts of France, Italy and England and dishes to tempt the taste buds of all will be in abundance.

Where : Wavell Heights Community Hall, Edinburgh Castle Road, Wavell Heights (on the North side of Brisbane)
When : Saturday 28th of May 2005
Time : Tourney 2-5pm; Feast 6-11pm
Costs : Adults - $21 for full event; $4 for tourney only Children (5 to 14) - $10 for full event; $3 for tourney only Children under 5 - free entrance Family tickets (2 adults, 2 children under 14) available - price upon application

Requirements of all attendees -

  • Pre 1600 A.D costumes are required of all attendees. Please advise Booking Officer if you are in need of loaner clothes or costume ideas.
  • Please bring feasting gear with you (a Plate, a cup and cutlery)
  • BYO alcohol and soft drinks. Cordials and iced water will be provided, however we ask you bring drinking cups for all members of your group.
