Tolkien Translation of Beowulf Found

Wheaton College professor Michael Drout discovered 2000 pages of handwritten material by J.R.R. Tolkien in a box of papers at Oxford's Bodleian Library. Professor Michael Drout at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., discovered an unpublished book, Beowulf and the Critics, while working on a research project at Oxford in 1996. This previously undiscovered book has been recently published, with the permission of the Tolkien estate.

  • An online bibliography that aims to include everything written by or about J.R.R. Tolkien
  • A scholarly journal, Tolkien Studies, at Wheaton College
  • Two seminars on Tolkien and other fantasy writers, taught as undergraduate courses
