Regia Anglorum Living History Exhibit

Micel Folcland, the Wisconsin-Illinois-Indiana wic of Regia Anglorum North America, is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring its first Living History Exhibition (LHE) at Jubilee Old English Fair near Brimfield, Illinois, on the weekend of 17-19 June, 2005. The LHE will be in the SCA camp, and public hours--the times when it will be as accurate as possible--will be announced later but will not conflict with other activities on or below the hill.

Regia Anglorum is a living history organization devoted to the recreation of British culture between 950 and 1066. It was founded in the UK in 1986. In the past few years, it has started to establish groups in North America. Its North American member ship includes many SCAdians who are seeking greater levels of accuracy; the North American founder and leader is Duke Talymar gan y Llyd.

By arrangement with the steward, we will be putting a ropeline around the camp. During public hours, nothing within the ropeline may be non-period, although visitors are free to come to the ropeline and to observe, to take photos and to ask questions. Persons wishing to participate, performing period-appropriate activities, should contact me at You need not be a member of Regia to participate, although if you participate and enjoy it, we hope you will consider membership.

We welcome anyone within the ropes who want to dress appropriately, with no OOP farb. Our Authenticity Officer, Karen Bergquist (some may know her as Alfwena) will make a decision on what will and will not be allowed in camp. A box to store inappropriate material will be provided. If you have questions about what is acceptable and unacceptable, contact her at A liberal interpretation of the rules is made for newcomers, but nothing overtly inappropriate--sneakers, spectacles, etc.--will be allowed during public hours.

I hope to see you there!

Cheers, Folki Rusli
