Genographic Project to Map Humankind

In what may well be one of the most ambitious scientific projects ever, the National Geographic Society has teamed with IBM to use DNA to map the spread of humanity across the globe.

The Genographic Project will collect samples of DNA from thousands of people around the world over the next five years. People who would like to contribute their DNA will be sent testing kits for a donation of $100. The collected funds will be used for furthern research.
