Did Dante Discover Law of Motion Before Galileo?

In an article for Nature, Leonardo Ricci, of the University of Trento, writes that poet Dante Alighieri described the law of motion in physics 300 years before Galileo.

The law, known as Galilean invariance, says that "the laws of physics are the same in all inertial frames of reference," and was described by Dante in the early 14th century in canto 17 of Dante's masterpiece Inferno.
