Lochac Midwinter Coronation

On July 8th, 9th and 10th Anno Societatis 40, Midwinter Coronation shall be held. Innilgard opens its arms and extends the warmest welcome to the people of Lochac.

Begin the weekend on the Friday night by witnessing the splendour of dances displayed and learnt in the week prior at the Known World Dance Symposium at the Ballo Viola Duo. Hosted by Lady Katerina da Brescia, this event sets the scene for the festivities to follow.

The Saturday begins with the display of Lochac's most capable crafts persons in the Kingdom Arts and Sciences competitions. Marvel at some of Innilgard's finest entertainers interspersed with the wonders of the ceremony of the occasion. The merchants will provide a wealth of stock for you to peruse and purchase, and children shall be amused with games and activities throughout the day. Once the formalities of the day are over, join with friends and acquaintances in experiencing the delight of samples of the world's flavours in the example of a 15th Century Italian Mess feast.

As the Saturday only serves to whet the appetite, the Sunday proves to entertain still further. Both Heavy and Rapier tournament will showcase the outstanding display of martial activity we have all come to expect in our fair lands. Enjoy a lunch provided by the most capable of Colleges, that of the Blessed Herman.

Coronation is at the Klemzig Band Hall, 7 OG Road Klemzig.

The hall opens at 10.00 am, the feast to begin at 6.00 pm.

The Tournament site is the Bennet Memorial Reserve, corner of Ways Rd and Bennet Ave, Manningham. Just off North East Rd. Site opening at 9.00am on the Sunday.

We wish for those who are interested in fighting on the Sunday to enter the parade of helms at the feast where in a local A&S competition the best mantle, crest and or favour worn upon the helm (or mask) will be judged.

Limited billeting is available and information on local motels and caravan parks can be provided. Please request when booking.

For those interested in fine wines and scenic surroundings, a winery tour of the Barossa Valley one of Australia's Premier wine regions, including pickups and lunch has been organised for the Friday or Monday depending on interest, details will be provided on request.
