British Museum Returns Treasure to Sutton Hoo - Temporarily

A 1500-year-old hanging bowl is being loaned to Sutton Hoo for an exhibit which takes place at the Anglo-Saxon ship burial site beginning in March, 2005.

Archaeologists are unsure about the purpose of the mysterious hanging bowl, which was discovered at Sutton Hoo when the site was excavated. The piece is owned by the British Museum and is thought to be Celtic in origin.

Also on display will be a modern quilt depicting the story of Sutton Hoo.
