Early Music Festival features music from the British Isles

This year's Amherst Early Music Festival will be centering on the "Music of the British Isles: Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque". Two week-long sessions will be held at Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont July 10-17 and July 17-24.

This year the Lute Society of America will be presenting its annual Festival in conjunction with the AEM. This year's theme is "The Secret Behind the Masque", a "hands-on" exploration of music making in England during the 16th and 17th centuries.

There will also be tracks from the New York Historical Dance Company and the Theatre Project will be presenting Ben Johnson's "Masque of Oberon." This is a festival for all performers, not just musicians and singers.
