A day of serious training in the art of battle. Nothing but directed, intense helm-time. Detailed explanation and philosophy will be published for after-event consumption, but will not take up the day's field time. Come learn and take the lessons home.

Fees: $11 per person, $9 if pre-registered by April 22, 2005. Site fee includes a bound copy of the training materials, suitable for reading, study, and/or donation to your local fighters group. Youths are $5; please be aware that no youth activities are planned at this event.

Luncheon will be available for $3 per person. No dinner feast is planned but Madison's restaurant scene provides a wealth of options. Persons with food restrictions are encouraged to contact the Luncheon coordinator.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Clarion hotel in Madison, 2110 Rimrock Road. Call 608-284-1234 and ask to reserve a room with the SCA War College block.

Site opens at 8:30 for registration, classes begin at 10:00 and end around 6:00. Site is dry and handicap accessible. See the event website accessible off the Jararvellir website (http://www.jararvellir.org) for updated information.

Driving Instructions:
From Chicago/Southern Wisconsin: I-90 west through Rockford, Beloit, and Janesville. Continue on I-90 to Stoughton/US-51 (exit 156). Follow US-51 west for approx. 6 miles to Stoughton. Proceed into town until you reach the first stop light (Fourth St.). Turn left on Fourth St. and proceed approx. 4 blocks (cross bridge). Turn left into the fairgrounds. Mandt Community Center is the largest building on the fair grounds directly across from the grandstand.

From Milwaukee: I-94 west to the Sun Prairie/Cottage Grove exit (exit 244). Follow Co. Hwy N to Cottage Grove. Continue on Hwy. N approx. 11 more miles to US-51 at the eastern edge of Stoughton. Turn right on US-51. Proceed into town until you reach the first stop light (Fourth St.). Turn left on Fourth St. and proceed approx. 4 blocks (cross bridge). Turn left into the fairgrounds. Mandt Community Center is the largest building on the fair grounds directly across from the grandstand.

From Madison/Northern Wisconsin and points West: I-90 east (south) toward Chicago to the Stoughton exit (exit 147). Turn right on County Hwy. N and follow it approx. 6 miles to US-51. On Sunday, Jararvellir will be hosting its annual May Day moot. War College attendees and their parties are welcome to attend, and a regional fighters' practice is being arranged.
