Alnwick Castle's Poison Garden

The Duchess of Northumberland has a black thumb, at least when it comes to her celebrated poison garden.

Signs throughout the garden, located at Northumberland's Alnwick Castle, read "Don't touch the plants," and for good reason. Within the UKĀ£400,000 Poison Garden are strychnine, cannabis, devil's eye, stinking nightshade and mandrake, which is fabled to scream when touched. The garden is open to the public, but tours are escorted.

Thanks to THL Francesca de Onorati, who is a marvelous cook, for the story. Should we be worried?
